☀️ What’s better than perfect weather? Building walls for affordable homes in perfect weather, of course! 🔨
❤️❤️ We’re incredibly grateful to State Farm for their ongoing partnership—through both generous sponsorship and hands-on volunteering. While we don’t keep official records, their team showed up in a big way, helping build walls for two homes in record time! 🏡🏡
We’re excited to welcome them back in the coming weeks as these houses truly begin to take shape and become homes for our partner families. Along the way, these future homeowners will be contributing their own “sweat equity,” working side-by-side with our amazing volunteers.
Together, we’re building homes, communities, and hope! 🏠💙

Yesterday, we broke ground on two new homes at 16 and 18 Trailside Ct in Bloomington, and today, we want to send a massive thank you to State Farm for their ongoing partnership and their generous sponsorship for 2026!
This year, State Farm's broader investment in affordable housing includes sponsoring two wall builds and one full home right here in McLean County. We are so excited to team up with them on Tuesday, June 23, for wall builds to help move two future homes one step closer to completion for local families.
State Farm volunteers will be swinging hammers at their Corporate Headquarters to frame the interior and exterior walls that will later be transported to the construction site and raised into place.
As our Director of Resource Development, Erin Jennings, beautifully put it: “Together, we are turning lumber into legacy — creating not just walls, but the foundation for stability, opportunity, and a place families can truly call home”.

What a glorious day we had. Volunteers from Women Build - Habitat McLean County came to Chesnut St and continued progress on the second floor.
Then at noon we broke ground on our two new homes on Trailside Court. Excited to begin the journey with these two deserving families. These homes are generously sponsored by State Farm and local churches including Calvary United Methodist Church. Funds raised at our spring Love Thy Neighbor Concert will also be put to use here. What an exciting summer of building we have ahead of us.
