Over the past several months, a group of local leaders from the McLean County Chamber of Commerce's Leadership McLean County Class of 2026 spent time working on a Community Impact Project for Habitat for Humanity of McLean County. Phase 1 of their project involved researching numerous alternative building strategies, determining the advantages, challenges, costs, and other considerations for each type of construction. From there, they narrowed down the choices to the top 3 most viable options. The group selected tiny homes, triplexes, and rehabs as they developed an implementation plan. They showed us how each strategy could work and how it could be more cost effective. The ultimate goal of the project was to cast a vision for how Habitat could build more homes and serve more families right here in McLean County!
