Women Build

The McLean County chapter of Women Build began in 2003 and starts work on their 16th home in May of 2019. Women Build is exactly what it sounds like - a group of women coming together to build a home alongside a deserving family. No prior experience is needed; we have a talented project director who can teach volunteers anything they need to know.

The goal of Women Build is to empower women to help families build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter, and to guide our local volunteers to improve their communities.

This year, Women Build is building with the Alvarez/Sotelo family.

The Women Build team not only physically builds a home each year, they also contribute financially as individuals and through fundraising initatives. We encourage you to put a "Save the Date" on your calendar for the 2019 Bunco Blitz, their main annual fundraiser. Held at the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center in Normal, it's a riotous night of Bunco with prizes, silent auction, tasty appetizers, and cash bar. You'll be able to sign up as an individual, a table of 4, or a pod of 12.

Online registration opens July 1st.
