Women Build

The McLean County chapter of Women Build began in 2003 and is currently finishing their 17th home. As soon as that home is completed, they will begin their 18th house in spring of 2022.

Women Build is exactly what it sounds like - a group of women coming together to build a home alongside a deserving family. No prior experience is needed; we have a talented construction manager and project directors who will teach volunteers anything they need to know.

The goal of Women Build is to empower women to help families build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter, and to guide our local volunteers to improve their communities. Although the Women Build house is led by, and mostly built by women, men are always welcome to support their efforts and join in!

We will continue to implement a build-site safety plan that includes mandatory hardhats and safety glasses. We will follow appropriate Covid safety measures, as needed.

The Women Build team not only physically builds a home each year, they contribute financially as individuals and through fundraising. SAVE THE DATE!! Women Build Bunco Blitz is Thursday, November 10th, 2022. Women Build's main fundraiser, it's returning after a 2-year Covid hiatus. Join solo, or bring a team of up to 12. Registration will open in September. Watch WB social media posts for updates.
