Women Build

The McLean County chapter of Women Build began in 2003 and started work on their 17th home on June 5, 2021 with a wall build. Women Build is exactly what it sounds like - a group of women coming together to build a home alongside a deserving family. No prior experience is needed; we have a talented project director who can teach volunteers anything they need to know.

The goal of Women Build is to empower women to help families build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter, and to guide our local volunteers to improve their communities. Although the Women Build house is led by, and mostly built by women, men are always welcome to support their efforts and join in!

We're hopeful we'll be able to break ground on the next Women Build house in the spring of 2021. Once we begin to build, we will implement a safety plan that includes social distancing, disinfecting equipment and tools, and required masks, hardhats, and safety glasses.

The Women Build team not only physically builds a home each year, they contribute financially as individuals and through fundraising initatives. The main Women Build annual fundraiser is Bunco Blitz, which will be back in 2022. Watch our social media posts for updates.
