Coordinator - A Brush With Kindness program

Job Description
Position Title: Coordinator for A Brush With Kindness
Reports to: Executive Director
Summary: The person in this position will serve as the Coordinator for A Brush with Kindness (ABWK) program. ABWK is a critical exterior repair program geared toward helping homeowners maintain the investment in their properties by helping them with smaller projects such as painting, landscaping, porch repair, door repair and replacement, siding, soffit or fascia, limited roof repair or replacement, limited mobile home repair. Collaboration with other Habitat for Humanity McLean County (HFHMC) staff members is critical to the role.
Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Lead a coordinated effort between Construction, Family Services, and Volunteer Services to complete a minimum of twenty (20) projects annually
  • Facilitate ABWK weekly meetings to coordinate projects from application to completion
  • Promote ABWK to the community and develop collaborative relationships with other affordable housing advocacy groups
  • Maintain a data base to track applicants, progress and completion
  • Be the initial contact with persons inquiring about the program and guide their application through the established timeline
  • Review new applications and forward to Family Services Manger to determine income qualifications
  • Schedule and monitor scope of service meeting between construction staff and homeowner
  • Collaborate with Family Services the development of a construction contract
  • Facilitate meeting of construction staff and volunteer services to determine what materials are needed, who is responsible for purchasing and getting those materials to the job site, who is going to complete the work, potential “rain date”, when the job will begin and how long it should take to complete
  • After completion, walk through job site with homeowner to make sure they are satisfied
  • Track loan payments, credit payments made – and follow up with homeowners who have missed payments or fallen behind
  • Report program and financial data to Executive Director quarterly
  • Seek funding opportunities to enhance the program
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Hours: This is a part-time position, approximately 20 hours per week; may include some evenings and weekends
Evaluation: Annually, by the Executive Director
