You can support Habitat and the construction of homes for partner families without mailing a check.

Frequent our ReStore, look into planned giving, donate a vehicle via Cars for Homes, ask if your employer has a matching gift program, shop via ShopRaise, or donate stock. Read below for details on these options.

You can also donate in-kind items from our wish list. If you want to contribute, the options are endless.

ReStore

Our Bloomington ReStore (1402 W Washington) is open Tues-Sat 10am-5pm for donating and shopping. We gladly accept new and gently used household, home repair, and construction items, which we resell at a discounted price. Proceeds from sales directly fund Habitat McLean County, by covering most of our operational costs.

This funding is equivalent to the cost of multiple Habitat homes. Plus, it's an adventure every time you visit. We never know what will be donated, so the inventory changes by the hour. The ReStore team does an amazing job turning a mountain of new donations into products on the shelves for you. Weekly markdowns and sales make our already super low prices even lower. Come see us!

Make a Gift in Honor of a Loved One

Honor a loved one or friend by making a donation to Habitat for Humanity of McLean County in his/her name. Consider this alternative gift idea for loved ones on birthdays, anniversaries, days of achievement or any other holiday. 

Your loved one will receive a personalized card sent by email or by postal mail letting them know about the gift in their name. We also have annual fundraising events in which a printed ad can be placed in our programs.

There are many special occasions where a Habitat for Humanity honorary gift makes for the perfect gift:

Do you have a vehicle you no longer use? Turn it into affordable housing for local families.

Donating a car is quick and easy and almost any vehicle is accepted (car, truck, motorcycle, RV, even construction or farm equipment) - running or not! There's a simple online form, or you can get questions answered at 877-277-4344.

Although your vehicle donation is processed through Habitat for Humanity International, we receive the proceeds to build homes locally. Your donation may be eligible for a tax deduction.

Employer Match

Make a donation and double your impact with your employer’s matching gift! Many employers will match tax-deductible charitable contributions made by their employees, retirees and employees’ spouses.

Not sure if your company participates? Contact your philanthropic or HR department to find out what your company's giving guidelines are.

Amazon Smile was discontinued in February of 2023. While this was certainly disappointing news, we are excited that an alternative shop-to-give option exists: ShopRaise. 

 

Similar to AmazonSmile and Kroger Community Rewards, ShopRaise is an app (and browser extension) that allows you to support Habitat while you shop. Simply visit, https://shopraise.com/support/589176 to download the app. As you shop your favorite retailers, a percentage of your purchase will be donated to Habitat - all at no cost to you!

Kroger Community Rewards

Use your Kroger Plus card to support Habitat McLean County! 

While on the Kroger website, create/sign into your account. Once logged in, select "My Account" and then "Community Rewards." Search for PM215 to find Habitat McLean County and enroll. Now, when you shop at Kroger using your Kroger Plus card, your purchase will also support Habitat!

When you shop at Walmart.com, you can round up your purchases to donate your change to Habitat McLean County. Simply select HFHMC as your organization and begin making purchases as you normally would.

Donate Stock

While time, money and housing supplies are the most common donations to Habitat McLean County, there are several other ways to give as well, and donating your stocks is one of them.

This is a fast and simple process which can be done through an electronic transfer, or certificates can be donated through the mail. Donations of stocks allow us to ensure that even more families around the world have a safe, affordable place to call home.
