Volunteer Coordinator (temp)
Dawn calls herself a "professional hybrid.” She spent over two decades in the interior architectural design industry. She has experience recruiting and coordinating volunteers with the San Francisco Habitat affiliate. She served as program manager for the Dutchess County Community Action Agency in New York, launching and testing the first nationwide Family Development program, which inspired her to become a certified Holistic Health Coach. Most recently Dawn completed a Master of Communication focusing on health communication and serving ISU’s Dept of Health Promotion and Wellness as a graduate assistant.
“After graduation, I wanted to work in a collaborative organization that helped others lift themselves up. I think my hybrid experience is a good fit for Habitat and I’m feeling blessed and grateful to join the affiliate, even if temporary,” Dawn said. “I’m looking forward to meeting and working with all the volunteers and will do my best to keep things running smoothly.”
Dawn loves biking, hiking, kayaking, cooking, baking, writing, creating in general, and recently gardening. She has lived in the Blo-No area for eight years with her husband, daughter, and dog Gracie.
